...aren't they beautiful? Every time I'm out and about they catch my eye in the skyline. It's been years since I've been skiing. I really wish I could have gone this season. Maybe next year. On a healthy note, this is week four of me hitting the gym 3 to 5 days a week. But get this, I've gained a few pounds! My husband says I'm building muscle. I sure hope he's right!...:)...

Last time you heard from me, I was gearing up for a very busy weekend. In case you were wondering, I was able to make all of the parties/events...:)...On Friday (2/6), I attended a small shindig in celebration of Pasadena. It had been quite a while. The next night (2/7), I attended Donna Wisdom's (event planner to the stars!...:)...) 40th Birthday Bash. (See photos.) Donna's event was really nice. It was held at a quaint little spot called Studio Eleven in L.A. She had a couple of masseuse's on hand, and I was VERY tempted to get a massage, but feared I'd get too sleepy!....:)...Later that night Kendra and I headed over to Neyo's Pre Grammy Midnight Brunch, which was being held at The Kress in Hollywood. After an hour and a half of looking for parking, we were promptly turned away by LAPD and LAFD, (because of overcrowding) once we reached the door! Aggghhh! They had shut down the red carpet and weren't letting anyone else in. From what I heard, they even turned Kathy Griffin away. Neyo himself was sitting out front in his pimped out car (of course...:)...), surrounded by paparrazzi and people with camera phones, graciously apologizing for the whole situation.

On Sunday (2/8) night, I headed over to Cabana Club in Hollywood for a Grammy Awards afterparty hosted by Wesley Jonathan. It was okay. I hate going by myself to events, especially when they are at nightclubs. I didn't get to meet Wesley Jonathan, (actually I didn't even see him) but I did get to walk the carpet. I also met a kid named Frankee Razor from this season of American Idol. That was an early night for sure.

This past weekend, I was invited to a couple of Valentine's Day Events, one was a Runway Magazine Fashion Show Event (back at the Cabana Club), and the other was a Charity Event with Brody Jenner over at The Highlands Hollywood. I just couldn't make them. I was too exhausted. Besides that, it was my anniversary weekend, so I think I just needed some down time at home with the family...

On deck for this weekend is the Oscars Gifting Suite, a Black Tie Gala, and a Comedy Show. Pics and details to follow. With award season in full swing, I feel like I'm out on the social scene too much these days. I need to be on a set somewhere!...:)...

Love (and parties) is (are) in the Air...

Okay, so nothing much has gone on with auditioning as of late. I'm not worried though, because I know I'm in good hands right now. It's just a matter of time!

Fortunately things seem to be going pretty well with building a bit of interest in me, so I have been keeping busy socially. As the weeks have gone by, I'm beginning to realize that my "social networking...:)..." is taking time away a lot of my family time. To curb that, I try to bring my husband along as often as I can. I also try to leave for events after my kids are in bed. I think those things help relieve some of the guilt I'm having about it all. I tell ya, I really can't imagine how celebrities deal with being away from their families so much. Especially when they have to be away for months at a time filming.

Anywho, this weekend in particular is going to be a busy one for me. I'm "supposed" to be stopping through at three birthday parties, a pre-Grammy Event, and a post Grammy Event. Believe it or not, there are three other parties/events that I got invites for, that I'm not going to be able to make! We'll see what goes down though, because I have a ton of homework to get done this weekend as well. Yes, I'm still in school!...:)...You know me, always got a lot going on at once. Before I forget, I'm also proud to say that I've been back in the gym full time! 3 to 5 times a week! Yeah!...:)...

The photos below are a few pics I've taken lately. The first was taken before I left for a Day of Reckoning/Afflicition Fight Viewing Party at Libertine in Hollywood on Saturday, 1/24. I was supposed to be on the red carpet for this event, but they were so unorganized it was crazy! Two days later on Monday, 1/26, my friend Tyreese Burnett had a screening of his short film "JESUS' SECRETARY" at the Bungalow Club in Hollywood. I was beyond tired, but I ended up having a good time. I ran into several friends there, and even SAW a couple of celebrities: Tyson Beckford and Vanessa Bell Calloway. I didn't have enough energy to ask them to take photos with me though. Maybe next time. The last pics are from when I went to my friend Victor Orlando's FUN-JA-LA Christmas Concert back in December.

P.S. Happy (Early) Valentine's Day! My hubby and I celebrate 7 years that day!...:)...Woo-who!

YES - I - CAN!

TV Audition - LIE TO ME - 1/23/09

Today I'm celebrating my first audition of the year! Yeah! It was last minute, but things went very well. I also met with a potential commercial agent today. The agency is a bit on the newer side, but you guys know that things like that don't bother me. As long as I get auditions, I'm a happy camper!...:)...I'll keep you posted on whether or not we make it official.

What else have I been up to lately? Stole time to read a book, and sat down long enough to watch a few flicks. Enjoyed THE LONGSHOTS and SEVEN POUNDS, really enjoyed NOT EASILY BROKEN. I went to a screening of NOT EASILY BROKEN. I was hoping to enjoy a Q&A with Mr. Bill Duke after the movie, but at the last minute, he was unable to make it. I was pleasently surprised by how good this movie was, considering I really didn't know much about it. Actually, I wish I could've auditioned for it, but I won't go there!

Anywho, a couple of I SAW's:

1. I saw Kevin McKidd in traffic the other day, and I'll just say, if/when they ever call me back to GREY'S ANATOMY, I hope my scene is with him!...:)...
2. As I was leaving my audition on the FOX lot today I saw Judy Greer. She seems like a really cool person. I've come across my share of celebrities, and it's a very rare occurence that they will look you in the eye and offer up a warm smile.

I think that's it for industry news right now. I'm still plugging away in other areas of my life, so most of the time I feel like a walking, talking zombie...:)...but I know all of my hard work will pay off soon. Right?!? Right? Right!

Today was Wonderfully Fruitful!...:)...

Not only does it mark my return to the gym, but the "shake up" also occurred today. Things went very smoothly, and I am so relieved that it's over!...:)...I already had someone lined up to go to bat for me, so hopefully the auditions will start pouring in. All I can do is wait and see!

Well, now that 2008 is in the record books...

...I guess it's time to pull out those New Year's resolutions right? NOT!...:)...

I have decided to do something different this year, and NOT come up with any New Year's resolutions for myself. My ultimate goal is to stay as open minded and positive as possible in 2009, and just enjoy what life brings my way.

Professionally, things with the animated short I did last year: Detective Downs 2, seem to be coming along quite nicely. The creator (Anthony Thurman) has just released an image of my character Robin. In addition, last month, he did an interview with Flicker Pictures in which I was mentioned!

In other news, this might not be the best time, but I think it's time for yet another shake up. So, please keep me in your prayers!

This last week...

...has been filled with parties of the season, and a few sleepless nights!...:)...In addition to several family functions, last Tuesday night (12/16), Tony Rock hosted "Christmas in Hollywood: A Toy Drive Event," which I attended with Kendra, Todd, and my brother in law. We had a great time, while also being able to give toys to children who are less fortunate. I took photos with Tony and the comedian Earthquake. I also ran into Faizon Love, (who I did THE LUAU with back in the day) but he left before I could get a photo with him. There are more photos from this event on my MySpace page if you're interested.

The next night (12/17), on very little sleep, Kendra and I got gussied up for ADMP and LA Fashion Corner's "Caring for Style" Fashion Show/Charity Event, which benefited Sheila E's Elevate Hope Foundation. The event was really nice, and I was hyped to be walking the red carpet again. It was packed with tons of photographers and interviewers, so it took us about 30 minutes from start to finish! (I've posted a few of the photos I found.) I also did about 5 interviews, so if I come across any of those, I will be sure to post them here as well. Again, there are more photos from this event on my MySpace page if you're interested.

On Saturday (12/20) my friend Victor Orlando, and his group FUN-JA-LA, hosted a Christmas Concert at the Salt Creek Grille down in El Segundo. Me and the family stopped by for a little saucy music and hot eats!...:)...

I'm surely pleased that these publicity efforts are working in my favor. It works out even better when Kendra and I are invited to the same events. That way we can keep each other company, and spot check if needed!...:)...Right now I'm scheduled to attend another event in early February. So, if no bookings are on my horizon, hopefully there'll be more events such as these in the coming months.

I'm still anxiously waiting to see what's going to happen with this SAG strike and all. I was able to get my votes in on time for the SAG Awards last week, and it looks like they've already announced the nominees. Hmmm, I wonder how I can get an invite to the SAG Awards? I'll have to look into that.

Anywho, I think that's it for now.
