Commerical Audition - 12/23/05 - VERIZON

Two days before Christmas? All I will say is, odd, very odd. But hey, I'm grateful, very grateful!

I probably won't post again until after Christmas, so have a good one everybody!

Does this mean I'm a celebrity?!?

I stumbled across this on the internet...

http://www.fanmail.biz/52973.html

How funny is that?!? The thought of people sending me fan mail is hilarious. And requesting a headshot? Even funnier!...I guess it would be cool to someday reach that level of success. I mean I do get the occasional request from people in other countries, or collectors, but I just assume they are just gathering early pictures of actors in hopes of cashing in on them one day. I don't usually respond to them. I saw this actresses website today, and she actually sells her autographed headshots online!...I thought that was a nifty idea, but I'm not sure if I'm bold enough to do that just yet, maybe someday when I can have my own little webstore with mugs and t-shirts and key chains and stuff on them!...:)...

At any rate, right now, I'm still little old me. Working my little old day job.

Yesterday I discovered that my STRONG MEDICINE episode will get another run the first week in January! (How lucky was it that I was in the Season Premiere episode?) Boy, I can't wait to see that residual check. I thought the GREY’S ANATOMY check was good, but this one will probably hold many more surprises, especially since this show runs in different countries. Only drawback is that a SAG rep once told me that cable residuals can take up to 18 months to get to them, and that it's completely legal. What?!? That's nuts. I guess I should read my SAG handbook a little more thoroughly because I had absolutely no clue about that. So that means, that quite possibly, the baby I'm carrying now will be a 1 yr old before I get this check. Oh well, at least I have something else to "look forward" to...

I've passed by countless post offices since the last time I posted, but still no passport. I'm going to do it after the holidays are over. I just have NO TIME to do it right now. Hopefully, if I can prove that I applied for my passport before 1/31/06 my agent won't trip...

Update on the book I'm supposed to be in. "Who's Who Of Stage And Screen" Volume 1 was just released this month (I am going to be in Volume 2). CLICK HERE to check out the author's website, and purchase Volume 1 if you're interested. She told me that Volume 2 will hopefully be published sometime in early spring of next year. I'll keep you posted.

5 days til Christmas...

My 3 year old is bursting at the seams with anticipation!...

Breaking News!...

What a wonderful birthday present to learn that GREY'S ANATOMY has been nominated for a GOLDEN GLOBE!...
Cool! Now it has become my life's mission to get back on that show!...:)...
Patrick Dempsey and Sandra Oh were nominated as well. I wish that Chandra Wilson had been nominated too, I think she lives and breaths that role!...

This past Saturday (12/10) I attended a workshop at the SAG building in which SAG members got paired up with WGA members to read their scripts aloud for them. It was a really fun experience to read a script that was in its infancy. The writer told us that it had been optioned by a major studio, and that it was going through rewrites. I gave her my h/r and business card and told her to please call me should she need actors for another read. Hopefully she will.

I also spent several days at the end of last week which equated to many, many (wo)man hours spent updating my website, dissecting the manager listing on www.talentmanagers.org, and cross referencing them (all of them!) on www.imdbpro.com. I tried to pay close attention to those managers that didn't have too many clients, and took note of whether or not their clients had been working lately. It was also helpful to see the managers who had websites and gave more insight on themselves. Anyway, I sent the e-mail out late Saturday night, and have gotten two responses so far. So, we'll see. I'm just glad I was able to make use of my IMDB PRO subscription.
12 days til Christmas...
Hasta luego...

Happy Holidays to You!

So how is the holiday season going for everyone?!? Me? Cool. Parties, dinners, and shindigs, which (of course) equates to waaaay too much food! I'm excited though, because I managed to get all of my shopping done for my daughter BEFORE Thanksgiving, which is a miracle in itself!...I am totally the person who waits until 1 week before Christmas to start shopping. I guess motherhood is continually changing me for the better...:)...

On to the acting news front, I've been working on a couple of things since I last stopped by...

First things first, last Monday (11/28) I went to a SAG Conversations/Screening for the show TWO AND A HALF MEN. I'd never seen the show, but a close friend of mine (a non actor) loves it. So, I decided to take him, and boy what a treat we got!...We were only expecting Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer, but the whole cast showed up, including little Angus T. Jones. It was amazing to hear all of the stories of triumph and good fortune.

For example, two of the female cast members (Conchata Ferell and Melanie Lynskey) started out as guest stars, but the producer, Chuck Lorre, (who is mad cool by the way) loved them so much he made them regulars. Also, Cryer talked about how he was unemployed for 2 1/2 years, on the brink of losing his home, when he got the audition for the show. The story I took most note of was Marin Hinkle's. She talked about how she was six months pregnant when she auditioned for the show, so that really gave me hope!...:)...All in all, the experience was a lot of fun and well worth it. (I've since started watching the show.) That reminds me, I have to send a thank you out to Mr. Lorre for bringing the whole cast out and sharing such valuable tips with us.

So, I started Yoga again last week, kicked my butt!...nuff said...:)...

Finally paid my AFTRA dues!...

Received an e-mail from my agent yesterday, no more excuses about the Passport, all clients must have copies in her office by 1/31/06...Guess I gotta get on the ball...

Lastly, I've been working on an electronic submission to send out to local managers. I've been compiling a list and taking notes of who I want to send it to. I would really like to have one, A GOOD ONE, by the end of the year. Wish me luck...

It has come as a surpise to me because this year has flown by, but I will be another year older next week (12/13)! Boy where does the time go?!?

Ciao.
