VO Audition - CDW & AARP & UNKNOWN - 04/29/08

Yes, thank you Jesus! I found out this afternoon that the agent has decided to take me on, and I couldn't be happier....:)...So hopefully, I'll be seeing all of you actor types on the audition circuit very soon. Now I just gotta go pick up my new headshots tomorrow, and get started on that pesky Demo Reel.

Another OTIS Update...

Found out over the weekend, from OTIS himself (Bostin Christopher), that I have been cut from the film. Bummer, right!?!? However, I AM happy to know this bit of information in advance of the release date, you know before I blanket Hollywood with postcards and stuff. Thanks for the info Bostin!

In other news, Baskin Robbins is having a $0.31 scoop night this Wednesday (4/30)! That will surely lift my spirits. Won't it?...:)...

Someone told me the other day...

...that they could have sworn I was 18 years old. Hmmmm, although I find that extremely hard to believe, I still can't decide if it was a compliment or not. I'm thinking, "Wow, do I look that young? Cool." AND "Wow, do I act that young? Not so Cool." I think I can pass for 25, but 18? That's really pushing it. I don't think this particular woman had ever seen me with my kids. If she had, I'm sure she wouldn't have thought I was only 18. I have a soon to be 6 year old for crying out loud! Anyway, all of that is so completely off subject...:)...

Moving On...

I have exceptional news! I signed with the manager I met with last week. He's a very cool guy, so I'm looking forward to a long and prosperous partnership with him. In other exceptional news, I had a meeting with an agent today that I'd submitted my information to. My friend B.J. referred me to him, and it turns out my new manager knows him too, so he was able to secure the meeting for me! How marvelous is that?!? In a nutshell, the meeting went very well. So, hopefully I'll know something tomorrow.

Finally sent off for the duplication of a couple of my new headshots. Two of the four were axed, because of the representation change over. Which is fine by me, because I wasn't feeling as strongly about those ones anyway...:)...I am so glad I held off. I saved myself a few dollars. Reality is though, I'll probably have to reshoot before the year is over. So, now that that's taken care of, I'm in search of a new "demo reel" person. I consistently run into roadblocks when I'm looking for people to work on my demo reels, so hopefully I can get this done sooner, rather than later.

What else is going on? GREY'S ANATOMY and LOST were back tonight. YES! My Thursday nights have been restored. At least for a little while.

Been working on the marketing stuff for the staged reading next month. Save the Date: May 17th, 2008. I'll be looking for all "10" of ya'll in Burbank!...:). Look out for more information to come very soon.

Things are Looking Up...

Things are looking up in my world, I'm working on setting up a meeting with a manager for next week. And, MME has just been brought on as the Marketing Director for a staged reading in mid-May.

VO Audition - KFC - 04/02/08

Okay, so you're probably wondering where I've been the last couple of weeks. (Or maybe not...:)...) At any rate, I'll tell you, it's been craziness abound! After the disappointment of having to walk away from the job that Kenyah booked, I got an e-mail about midway through last week from my agent saying she was leaving the business for good. Effective Immediately! Ouch! So, I've been spending what little time I've had available as of late, in search of new representation. I've gotten a ton of great leads so far, but if any of you out there know of any agents that might be looking for new talent (right in the middle of what's left of pilot season) please let me know ASAP...:)...

This past weekend, I lent my voice to an animated project my friend B.J. (fka "my writer friend") is working on. After not booking since before the strike, it was so much fun to actually "feel" like I was working.

It seems like "negotiations" may have fallen apart with the project I was so excited about last month. You know the one that I launched the entertainment company (MME) in anticipation of? Apparently, things just didn't add up the way we wanted them to. No worries though, the door is not closed, so maybe it's something that will be picked up later this year. MME is in talks to jump aboard as co-producers of a play that's to go up in a couple of months. So, slowly but surely, we'll start doing business with the company, and see how things go from there.
