This past Tuesday night, my husband and I attended the fall edition of the 2005 ‘First Look Film Festival,' the USC School of Cinema-Television's biannual showcase of student-produced short films where the student film I did, BROOKLYN'S BRIDGE TO JORDAN was part of the lineup. The audience was full of entertainment industry professionals, and it was mc'd by two former USC students: Paul Harris Boardman and Scott Derrickson, the masterminds behind the recent thriller THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE. It was a great screening, some of the films were a bit quirky and very, very original, but overall everyone did a great job. Unfortunately, we had to cut out early, so I couldn't stay and get my schmooze on.
So, I'd put off having my demo reel redone until the first week in October in anticipation of my second GREY’S ANATOMY episode airing on October 2nd. However, I found out this week that the episode may actually air on the 9th, or the 16th instead. I going to have to call the production office to make sure. So, depending on what they say, it looks like I may have to wait another couple of weeks before I can get my reel done. I'd also geared up to do a mass CD mailing, but it would probably make more sense for me to sync that with the GREY’S ANATOMY episode too. (A couple of girls from church are going to come over to assist me in getting some of this stuff done.) Thank goodness, because there is no way in the world I'd be able to get all of this stuff done by myself!...:)...I've actually been courting the idea of taking on a manager to help me with some of the grunt work. I'll let you guys know if that materializes...
Man, I really do wish I had more time to dedicate to marketing myself, and perfecting my craft, like some full time actors do. I just have to keep forging ahead though, and do what I can do. (As long as I do one thing a day right?!?)...:)...
I've been in constant contact with my agents about the pictures I took last month, but no decisions have been made yet. I would really like to get that completed so I can get out there with my new pics ASAP. (As I hear it, the industry is smoking right now.) They tell me they're working on it, so I have to be patient. On another note, I decided that I like the new picture I posted a few weeks ago enough to have some business cards made from it. I am going to take my order over to ISGO LEPEJIAN today.
Yeah! I finally received my PANTENE VO spot this week. So now I have to play catch up for my VO agent too, and get her my new VO Reel ASAP. Boy, if it's not one thing, it's another.
Peace Out.
P.S. No auditions as of late.
